At Clover Hill Events, we truly feel the need and want to share the love in all aspects. During times of great happiness and great crisis, we look to people for love and support, who can assist in what needs to be done and to help us get through challenging times. In efforts to give back where we can, a donation will be made from each event that Clover Hill Events coordinates in the years 2020 and 2021 to the Direct Relief humanitarian aid organization. This amazing charity has consistently been evaluated as a 4-Star and top-ranking Best Charity. Its mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay (www.directrelief.org) is a mission that we stand behind wholeheartedly. All donation amounts will be reported to each couple upon contract signing and will be sent directly to Direct Relief. We are so grateful to share that even though 2020 was not at all what we had expected it to be, thanks to all our amazing couples who hired us and amazing vendors who recommended us, a portion of each event was donated to the Direct Relief organization. $250.00 this year was donated, and we hope 2021 will be an even bigger donation.

I am deeply grateful for your being part of Direct Relief, and wanted to share with you this report that details the organization’s Covid-19 response over the past year.
In what continues to be Direct Relief’s largest humanitarian response in 73 years, I’ve had the privilege of leading these efforts and seeing up close the organization’s activities to help people facing this historic crisis, and also how much these efforts have meant to them and their loved ones.
I also know that your involvement is the only reason these efforts were possible. That’s why it’s important to share with you the details of what’s been accomplished, including —
Delivering more than 82 million units of personal protective equipment (PPE) and a total of $1.3 billion in medical material aid, including life-saving, essential medications, and thousands of items of diagnostic and intensive care equipment like ventilators and oxygen devices, to 55 US states and territories and 100 countries.
Providing nearly $50 million in financial assistance to nonprofit community health centers and free clinics in the U.S. that serve the least fortunate and most vulnerable people, primarily in communities of color where Covid-19 has had particularly severe effects. This support has been used to sustain care and expand programs such as telehealth, drive-through testing, and expanding capacity and training for administering the vaccine.
Conducting ongoing extensive research on Covid-19 trends and impacts, and generating information, mapping tools, and applications that have been put to immediate, practical use to inform both policymakers and Direct Relief’s response activities, so that we could not only act quickly, but also intelligently.
These facts and others in the report, including about how Direct Relief has used the funds entrusted to it, are obviously important. Also important, but unfortunately much harder to count, is the sense of support, respect, and concern that accompanies the assistance and the fuel it provides to all the doctors, nurses, and other essential healthcare workers caring for patients during this scary time. Knowing they have people out there to call on for help can be as important as the help itself. Thank you for being part of providing that, too.
